I am sorry if you already know this (and you proberbly do) but I have reliesed that there is an error with the phone book with SE and nokia phones. I will try to explain what I mean.....Lets say you have sombody in your phone book called James and his number is 0208 434 4345...if you manually type in the number but change the area code so that it is now 0207 434 4345 the James name will still come up saying that it is dialing him....
What do u think that is all about...try it on ur phone and tell me if it happens to u as well....I have tried it on a nokia 8310, t68i and a p800

This is not an error. Yes, it could be with all the phones.
The phone software will not analyze all the digits of the phone number for caller/called indication. It is programmed to analyze only the last 7 digits or something like, depends on the processor ability and software design. Have detected this on the old GH series.

its fine on my T68i .
i first called Pizza Hut with phone number 416-310-10-10, it said "Calling Pizza Hut" (because i have it stored in my address book.
then i called the phone number 905-310-10-10, it just displayed "Calling 9053101010"
so i dont think i have this problem. My firmware is R6A.

How about make another test? Try dial number 906 310 1010. See the indication. If it says Pizza..., then R6A brings 8 digits for analysing.

It isn't actually a problem. Local phone numbers are usually no longer than the abovementioned 8 digits. If you really happen to have two phone numbers that are the same exept for country code then you have a real rare case in your pocket. The more digits it has to handle, the more power it takes and slower it responds.

The power required to check all the digits instead of just the last few is minicule compared to doing things like comparing voice tags.
I conject, though, that the "checking only last 7 digits" thing is because of the multiple ways you can represent the same number -- i.e., as a national number (e.g., mine is 0438xxxxxx) or as an internaional number (61438xxxxxx). I guess that the national number representation of your phone number isn't the same in different countries.
