...I'm quite new to all this, can anyone tell me what software to use to transfer an image from my pc to a t300?

you can use the official sony ericsson software - if you go to
http://www.sonyericsson.com -> t300 ->support
or you can go to christersson.org and use his sendfile proggy.
if you are using IR windows will do it

ive got a t300 - you can use irda, or get a cheap usb cable which are much more effiecent, quick and can be used any time. the carphone warehouse, i'm from UK, or sonyericsson e-shop have them. some are cheap, some aren't.
