I just got my P800 from SE the other day. I followed Bengal Boy's bible and have most everything set up. Even downloaded Opera, which works well. BUT... I'll be damned if I can link the P800 with my computer via Bluetooth. I've had my T68 paired for better than 6 months with no problem at all. Able to surf the web via the T68 as GPRS modem connected to my Sony Vaio SRX41P notebook via bluetooth. Here's what's happening: when I open the Vaio's bluetooth application, called BlueSpace, the P800 is "paired" ok, but won't "link" to the phone in order to dial out. The Com function pairs and links fine, meaning I can connect the phone and computer to transfer data, pics, etc with no problem. When I try to open the modem link, I get an error message stating that I've not chosen a COM port for the modem. This is not the case, I installed the modem on the Vaio and chose several different COM ports but I always get the same error message. The SRX41P is not sold in the U.S., only in UK and Europe as the U.S. is so far behind with bluetooth they don't bother selling the model with built in bluetooth here. Therefore, Sony tech support doesn't have a clue and neither does SE tech support. If anyone can tell me what's wrong, I'd be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance.
