GPRS, WAP, MMS and Email setup
> T-Mobile USA and CSD

Hello all...
I'm back in the U.S. and have just recently setup an account with T-Mobile. I was formerly using Globe (Philippines). One of the things I was able to setup with Globe was a CSD connection. With CSD, I was able to get a data connection using +639172399 with globe as the username. Since Globe GPRS is free, I didn't have much use for it.
However, now that I'm back in the U.S., the rules have changed. I now have to watch my GPRS usage. What I would like to do is setup CSD and use it as a backup to GPRS. I was wondering if T-Mobile has something similar to what Globe offers.
Thanks.

T-mobile has CSD. I used it on my T68i all the time. I don't have the settings or I would use it on my P800. If anyone has them post them.

I talked to T-Mobile and the \"Technical\" guy says that I would have to have a separate ISP with dial-up access. The tech sounded clueless but being new to the GSM scene here in the US, I can't refute it. Hopefully, somone here knows what the settings are and posts them here,

Thats bs. No seperate isp is needed. They pissed me off earlier just because they don't know anything. They also claim T68m or T68i does not have CSD. And that my P800 can only view wap pages.

T-Mob def has CSD. Here's what to do:
Choose Connect, data comm, data accounts, add account.
Account type: GSM Data
Name: "CSD Data" or something like that
Phone #: +19132440821
User ID: wap
Password: leave blank
Password Request: off
Data Rate: 9.6
Dial Type: ISDN
DNS Address: 208.014.205.005
Then you need to set up a wap profile:
go to wap settings and customize a profile, name it CSD Profile or something.
In wap settings, for your profile, choose Gateway, then IP settings.
Connect using: "CSD Data"
IP address: 010.168.200.050
User ID: blank
Password: blank
Data mode: conn oriented
Security: off
Show Images: on
That should do ya.

There is another number, but if I remember correctly only users in Conneticut could use it. I can't remember why. Anyway this number is the best one to use if you can. These calls just deduct from your voice minutes. It's important to remember that it deducts from your anytime minutes.
Prepaid users should be able to use it if you can make data calls.
Another WAP gateway is 10.168.200.180

Noc: Thank you very much for posting the settings. I called T-mobile again today and they told me my old T68 didn't have CSD and never does my P800. And they still doubt I can view html pages and so on. The told me CSD could be added to my account for another 9.99 a month. I told them to shove it up their ass and just give me the damn settings. But none of them knew what the hell I was talking about......really lame. The data support guys didn't even know!? Customer service used to be better then this. I'm really disappointed in them.

Feel that GSM is still pretty new in the states. @cdcjr, It depends on T-Mobile. Think that few providers will activate CSD 4 prepaid users. U can phone to T-Mobile or even check out by yourself. MMS is to be sent via data connection.
