Hi mates.Just bought a IBM R31 with WinXP and allthough I installed the P800 PC Suite several times it doesnt complete with the Dial up networking wizard.Do I have to install drivers of the modems found on the cd rom and how, also how can I verify the port allocated is enabled? All these questions seem huge now but cetainly someone out here could help out with a good answer,l really would appreciate this highly. One more thing, lets all wish for a quick ending of the Iraq war and no further implications following.Awaiting for a reply,I remain a freeloader .

To install the modem driver you need to do the following.
Open "control panel" > select "phone and modem options" > click on the modem "TAB"
Click on add > check "don't select my modem" and then Next
Select Ericsson from Manufacturer insert your P800 disc and then select Have Disc>select your drive and then click ok
You can now select the drivers you need

In "Phone Connections Link" (broken double sided arrow in task bar) make sure you have the "USB COM PORT 4 NOT CHECKED"
You need to install the "Serial Modem" like I said in previous post from your p800 DISC, install the modem on COM PORT 4
In "Phone Monitor" make sure you have COM PORT 4 ENABLED
Run the "Dail Up Networking Wizard" and follow the instructions selecting "Serial Modem on COM PORT 4
I'm posting this using the P800 modem
Let me know if you need any additional help
Don't forget when you want to sync your phone tick the USB COM PORT 4 and change you settings on the p800 back to PC

Dear Bogman,I followed again your very good directions and everything happened as you said BUT it didnt get finally connected.Even when I enabled COM 4 on phone monitor, the phone links properties showed COM 4 not connected.Strangly in pc mode(p800)it connected,so when I switched back to modem mode it disconnected. For some reason the P800 modem is not connecting,on Device manager after query modem function it said if the hardware is in the HCL list and compatible with Windows.Im really confused and sorry to be annoying for you with all my questions but Im surely missing something,I even tried the whole thing yesterday with Irda and I completed the whole DUN wizard, but it didnt connect, hardware problem it said.So finally if you could suggest some solution please do so,if you want you can also email me to rostropol@yourwap.com.Once more thank you for all your assistance.P800 is now the big player in the field,a true winner.

If its on gsm dialup you're browsing at 9,600 bps max..
Depending on yer service provider you will get up to 57,600bps on gprs.
The 115,00 is only showing the port speed..
