I'm on T-Mobile USA and I'm curious how does a carrier track GPRS usage? I thought that they just calculate it by measuring data that you transmit through the gateway but seeing as there are other gateways that wouldn't make sense.

Also the data my phone says has been transmitted and the amount that T-mobile is showing is quite different, in my favor so I'm not worried, but still.

It's easy.They keep the track of the amount transported thru their NETWORK, no matter what gate u r using or what kind of site u visit or what u download.
