Ok guys, i've really surfed the forum for more than just a few hours trying to look for some answers about the T68i's light dimmer "feature" (or should I say "bug"?). So if anyone know how to make the forum search engine to work finding the answer, I would apreciate if you share with me the tip.
The problem is as follows: Sometimes, when I push the NO button, perhaps for trying to exit from an option menu directly to the standby screen, I made it to the standby screen but the backlight goes softer and some OFF-like music sounds. Can anyone tell me what the heck is happening or how can I have control over this feature? It seems to happen randomly.
I hope this post to be seen by some guy at SE technical support or by a SE phones expert, cause everyone in this forum will surely think I'm nuts.
By the way, my phone's SW version is: R2E006. I don't know if that' all you need to know but Christersson's PhoneBackUp says more specs if someone needs them.
I am desperate, so if you read this post, at least reply it with a "never happened to me, you're crazy man!" or "Sometimes it happens to me but I don't care" or "Can anyone help us?, I have the same problem" or wathever! Please!

Well for me this only happens, permanently when I start my T68i from the charger. Meaning it's plugged in off, and then I push and hold no and it starts up with a dim light and stays permanantely until i restart it without the charger and it comes back with the normal brightness. This happens for me on both softwares I had/have R2A & R6A.
I don't seem to have exactly the same problem as you, maybe try turning your T68i on without a charger...
Try fiddeling around with the backlight settings. Like putting them to off, turning off the phone, restarting it and then putting the backlight to automatic/on ,etc...
