..I wonder if there is someone who could program a voice-mail that stores the calls in the phone instead of the operators voice-mail. It sucks that people have to pay twice to hear a message and operators themselves make a lot of money on our backs. I think it would be enough for the phone to "auto-answer" after a certain amount of time (just before the operator's voicemail is activated), play a recorded message from the owner and then record a message.

I don't know if it is feasable but I remember that one Sony phone had this feature. Of course I don't expect SonyEricsson to implement it, I don't think they want to piss operators off... But someone independent could maybe think about that.

actually the motorola p7869 has a function that has an answering machine, it can record 3 minutes of message.

as does the samsung R220..

My sony z5 had this function, it would record a 20 second message up to 5 of these if i remember rightlw my siemens sl45i has a feature to answer with a pre-recorded message but doesn,t allow the caller to leave a message. This message was posted from a T68i

Yeah I am lucky enough to get free voice mail calls too!

But there is some software on www.handango.com that does this on the 7650 which as you all know has the same OS as the P800 maybe we could bug the programmer for a conversion!

P.S. before you try I can confirm that the 7650 version doesn't install
