I checked out only the mb one but here's my 2 cents. I extracted the images and resaved them all using photoshop using web colors and saved an additional 7k. Granted on the pc the images look dramatically different but on the phone I dare you to be able to tell the difference, especially with a 33% savings from the original theme.

I tryed that u described when I did my themes, pictures were bad looking on my phone so i decided to make them larger & nice:-)
