I have 100s of Real Player video files which the P800 wont touch - is there a program which can convert these to a format the P800 does tolerate?

Dont get mad, I dont have a p800 so i dont realy care about converting. but i suggested that he should post back the result of a prog or whatever (including link) that is best suited.
So he will save others the trouble of typing "rm to mpg" in google

i personally felt this being a little off-topic, as converting real media files to any other format is not really related to a P800.
secondly, searching yourself before asking questions is generally a good idea. hence my direct google link that'd give plenty results to find what you're looking for (the first one, for instance).

And enough of the thinly-veiled arsiness towards those who haven't been around that long. Not everyone realises about the search function or where to post their threads until they've acclimatised to Esato.
This site would be a far better place if people concentrated on helping each other and not criticising those less knowledgeable than themselves!

you're right; i wasn't criticising less knowledgeable, i was pointing something out.
