Hey Gang,

Argg! I need HELP with Opera!
Whenever I try to open a HTML page it gives me 'Activation rejected' on an information dialogue. To the best of my knowledge I'm connecting through 'Vodafone GPRS WEB'
Address :internet
Username: web
Password: web
...but... My GPRS Data Log only displays-
Vodafone GPRS WAP
Vodafone GPRS MMS
This is driving me nuts as my mates P800/Opera works fine (his Data Log displays Vodafone GPRS WEB!)
Vodafone personel aren't much help either funnilly enough...

Any help would be *most* appreciated!
Thanks
E

in the internet settings ensure the prefered service is this VODAFONE Gprs web and, if you like, turn of show connections dialog if its ticked.

also, I tried username/password web and it didn't seem to work as reliable as not having the username/password so in the advanced screen untick the username and password required. Only Address internet is really requiered.

Hope some of that helps... they are the settings I have.

Go into control panel>Internet accounts....you should have Vodaphone GPRS account listed. If not then you need to add new account

yes... except mine is just called GPRS

EDIT:
You could delete your internet and wap profiles and start fresh following the instructions I put here. I reset my phone just the other day and this worked perfectly.

You must have a GPRS connection before you will see any data in your GPRS log
In your internet accounts you should have something like this

Voda GPRS
Voda GPRS Wap
Voda MMS

Where "Voda GPRS" is your connectiopn to the internet via Opera and GPRS

I've deleted all of my internet accounts then added 2 new ones...

WAP -
User name : user@vodafone.net
Password : user
Address : wap.vodafone.co.uk

WEB -
User name :
Password :
Address : internet

The built in browser works only with 'WAP' and Opera doesn't work with either! Argg!
Are there any Vodafone UK customers out there with similar problems because I'm starting to think that it might be a problem with the handset.

Activation Rejected usually means you do not have a subscription.

Does the little GPRS 'globe' appear momentarily when trying to connect?

If so, give your service provider a call.

Yes of course! This is what I usually tell people. Don't know why it didn't cross my mind last night! Sorry for that!

Cheers Gang!!

Got it sorted thanks to tbl. Rang up Vodafone and asked 'Whats the story!!'
Vodafone had 'forgotten' to activate the internet/gprs portal on my account!
I had been using wap the whole time!! Good lads!

Luckily WAP/GPRS has been free in March (although the guy I bought my P800 from didn't tell me that)

Thanks for the help and Surfs Up!!
