Howdo,
Just wondering whether any tech heads who use the board would know about the feasability of a small d-pad attachment being created, replacing the default flip hinge covers. (the bit with the Orange logo on for those who use Orange)
If this new "D-pad" piece was extended around the bottom of the p800 .. could the data connection socket (next to the power socket) be used to record inputs, sent through a thin network of connectors running from the data socket to the four locations on the underside of the D-pad...
Obviously we're talking about a small D-pad here.. sub Game and watch size probably.. and it would also need to have some kind of switch to control it's orientation...
Also.. it wouldn't solve the problem with fire button arrangements...
P.S. Does anybody know if you can flip the screen of SMSplus...? using stylus and Camera/Internet button is a right royal pain.

sounds complicated.
How about a hybrd version of the current flip where the d-pad sits on the screen and the movement of the d-pad is simply translated onto the touch screen.
I am sure things like edoom could be altered so they ran in a smaller window with the p800 the right way up giving room for a d-pad under the window

There is already one in development.
Do a search as there was a thread already about it in General.
