This forum has been fantastic with quick answers and advice. Just downloaded some MP3 music to P800. It plays but I don't seem to be able to view the song title. Can anyone show me how or why it does this? I converted my CD to MP3 using Roxio CD Creator 6, then rename the file before copying to P800 (less than 8 characters).

The song title has nothing to do with the file name... the artist & song title is set in your MP3 encoding software, whatever you set in there is displayed on the P800...

Hope this helps!

Helen.

FYI this is called an ID3 tag.

It can also be set post-encode with something like Winamp.

FYI, you can easily do it from Windows XP too - just right click on the file and go into Properties and click 'Advanced' if Simple mode is showing - modify the ID3 Tag properties there and you're set.
