I think you really can't say whether a screen is visible under the sun or not unless you see the actual thing. I keep hearing about how color mobile phone screens are dark or invisible under the sun, but I have no trouble whatsoever seeing my new T300's screen under the sun. A friend has a Sagem MY X-3 that also has a 101x80 256 color screen, and it's totally dark under the sun.

its all about STN and TFT screens. the TFT is better in the sunlight. but STN is cheaper and uses less engery.

I am a new poster but an avid reader of the posts. Most of my questions have been answered before but I can’t find the answer to this one. I have looked.

Had my T610 for three days now and generally I am very pleased with it. But on the second day I encountered the screen reflection problem in daylight. This problem has been with gameboys for since the first one came out so there must be a solution to this problem out there. Is there a textured screen cover that can be placed over on the market?

I haven't complained much about the T610 with the few probs it has but the one prob that annoys me is not being able to see the screen in sunlight.

My ipaq (5450) has no problem at all in this area so I don't know why they can't make phone screens the same as those!

massuer - I bet your Ipaq has a TFT screen, which is why it works okay in sunlight. TFT screens drain battery power much more than STN screens, which is why STN is still commonly used.

I'll be honest and say I'd rather have the TFT screen which I can see in daylight and suffer worse battery life.
