> animated GIF screensaver stuck on last frame :(
Bookmark topic
I have a question for anybody who can help me. I'm making my own animated GIFs, but everytime I load them on the phone and set them as screensavers, they get stucked in the last frame of the animation for like 5 minutes or more, and then the big clock appears. Other gifs just run their loop and then they go off, but the ones I make just get stuck on the last frame.

I have set them to loop only once, but still I have the same problem. It also has happened with some (not all) gifs I have downloaded from the web.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this please? it's really getting on my nerves... thank you!

I think u should post them somewhere, they would be real hit considering how many people wants to get rid of the clock!
I had some screensavers behaving like that too. Maybe u should export frames and try to remake animations with some other program.
BTW, Did u set them on continous loop?

Hi and welcome to Esato.
The only thing I can think of is that you forgot to make it do an infinite loop inside your gif animator program.
I know in Adobe Image ready (the program I use for animated gifs) that you can either have the gif run through the animation once and the stop, or you can set it to loop infinitely. Make sure you put it in infinite loop mode before saving.
Quick question: if you open the gif in Internet Explorer, does it stop after one cycle or does it repeat?

Hello to everybody and thanks to those of you who tried to help! I found out what was the problem. The problem is caused by the Sony Ericsson Image Editor program. When I used it, that's when the gifs were misbehaving, but when I just used my laptop IR connection to directly transfer the gifs to the phone (instead of using SE program) the gifs behaved just fine!
And I know lots of people want to get rid of the clock (me being one of them) but I gotta tell you that the gifs staying on the screen means your battery will go bye-bye in no time, and besides, it's not only the gif that stays on, it's also the screen backlight as well as the keys' light, so it wasn't a solution to the clock problem, otherwise I would have been happy!

anyway, thanks again to all of you.
PS the version of SE image editor I have is 1.4.0 for those who want to know...

I didn't say it's perfect solution

BTW, is v1.4.0 on SE site already?
Never mind, just checked it. I can see that MMS home studio also is available in new version.
