I've been trying to get IMAP to work over SSL with my P800 and have been having no success. I can see at the server that a connection is made to port 993, but the client just hangs and ultimately times out.
Anyone else get this working? Is it supposed to work? I checked the "Secure connection" box on the Advanced tab for the appropriate Messaging Account, although its placement makes me wonder if "Secure connection" is supposed to apply to the SMTP connection or the IMAP connection (I want it for both).
One issue that comes to mind is that I'm using a self-signed cert. Could this be the problem? Is there a process for importing root or CA certs? Should this matter?
Any thoughts/pointers would be welcome!
Thanks.

Did you get anywhere with this? I am getting exactly the same problem (only using POP3 over SSL instead of Imap).
I tried importing the cert into the P800 but still get the same.

Nope, still not working.
Can anyone confirm this with the latest firmware?

IMAP over SSL is supported -- with the caveat that your server must allow a connection on port 143 followed by the issuance of the "STARTTLS" command to begin an encrypted session. (UW-IMAP, for one, does allow this.)
However, are there any alternative email clients available?

Maybe someone else can help with this. I got frustrated and sold both of my P800's.
