> The disgusting opportunism of Smart Telecommunications
Bookmark topic
This is regarding the new advertisement of Smart Telecommunications wherein they are encouraging their subscribers to call their loved ones in the strife torn areas in the middle east. In my opinion this is just a cheap gimmick to increase their bottom line. If they're really interested in helping, i think they should just shoulder calls to those areas instead of advertising their 40 cent rate. Knowing that they can't do this, i think they should just shut up and think of other ways to increase their revenue. What do you think? _________________

Absolutely, and their trying to put up a noble front by setting up and sponsoring so called free call centers in high profile public affairs television programs with big signages so you won't forget who they are.

Did you expect anything else from PLDT/Smart Telecom???!!???

These are the same guys who screw over the local ISPs internet link so that they go out of business.
PLDT & Smart Telecom sucks... every single person in management deserves to get SARS. And I'm
NOT kidding.
These guys are heart-less @$$#013$...they always have been.
These are the guys who pay the terrorist rebels here to bomb Globe Telecom's cell sites in certain areas. These guys fund terrorism... what the hell do you expect?!??!?!

Yeah heard about that, imagine their towers emerging unscathed when the globe telecoms towers , only a few hundred meters away are devastated. Their foreign partners are in Hong Kong so their chief executives might just catch the bug there:-D:-D:-D

all i can say is HEAR! HEAR!
all of you are right. and i totally agree that their marketing tastes are really bad! just look at the SMART GOLD advertisement... look how they try to make themselves look sosyal but puhleez...!
actually they are cheap but not so cheap at all. they come to get the "MASS" market but actually their rates are HIGH! i just come to wonder why globe is actually cheaper when it comes to rates pero ang market nila eh yung "upper class".
I also believe that idea na Smart/PLDT pays NPA to bomb globe sites... obvious naman eh...
