Orange have anounced sweeping changes to come into effect from 1st May.
To start with ALL pre pay customers will be charged 5p each & EVERY time a number connects (even for a second) this "minimum charge" will make them a fortune & you will notice higher bills because minimum charges ALWAYS make a big difference to your bills (more than you would think).
Also SMS cost will rise to 12p & al those £50 top up sims with 5p off peak Orange to Orange calls will be lost & a 20p a minute charge will come into effect.
In fact everything about their new policy is robbery, because its changing the deal you had with them.
You all must complain to Orange to stop this or its the end of Orange as a FAIR network.
Please complain about anything your unhappy with to Orange PCS correspondence dept,po box 10,patchway, Bristol,Bs32 4bq.
or because they charge you to complain on 451 you can ring them on 0800801080 & go for prepay option.
Say you want to officially complain about the new charges, if enough people care they will back down as they have before on charging issues.
new pre pay rates can be seen at http://www.orange.co.uk/changes
You may be shocked so make a cuppa before looking

@Jalu,*fudge fudge* On pre pay deals it may become true, but O2 are not cheaper than my Orange OVP virgin contract. I cant see them ever comming near, some o2 contract airtime deals charge a minimum charge per call, i havn't seen that on any Orange deals yet, Orange are getting dearer, BUT I'M NOT SUGGESTING THEY ARE A CROOKED COMPANY LIKE O2

Patchy-chill. Your ovp price plan aint changing unless virgin change it-all the networks will follow suite and blame oftel-they demanded the inter-conect charges to be lowered so they have to recoup the money elswhere This message was posted from a T68i

@orangeman, i have OVP orange sim & just talk £50 top up,
First, on my just talk sim i LOOSE my 5p off peak calls (orange to Orange & standard No.s) they will be 20p instead PLUS a minimum call charge.
The SMS on that sim go up from 5p to 12p, THEY ARE HUGE INCREASES.
Also Orange are sending out sms to OVP virgin customers saying the 0800 numbers will become chargable, so wheres the PROMISE part of thye OVP deal now ?
Tell me to chill if you want but looking at my bill, i worked out that these changes will more than DOUBLE my call costs overall, can't you see why i'm angry mate ?
Using that Oftel cop out is lame, Orange offered great deals to get people to join them & now they are trying to stitch us up, in my view Orange have gone back on the agreement i thought i had with them. regardless of what it says in the small print.
I wont let it bother me for long, but i will not recomend Orange to people as i have in the past.
Thanks for taking time to read & understand my complaint.

@Boyi, pre pay is the main target, but contract changes are hinted at, but mainly OVP Virgin deal.
The main gripe i have is that these changes are being done on sims that were bought some time ago with a clearly stated price structure.
A little while ago Orange cut my 5free (out here package) texts per day down to just 3 a day, but because of public pressure they reinstated it.

I can't sell a car to someone for £5000 then go back to the guy a year later & ask for more money, just because i'm broke.
Orange can charge NEW customers new rates if they want, thats up to them. but it is crappy of them to change old agreements in my view.
