when i first saw the P800 i thought this was the answer to all my prayers. i was a t68i user with a sony clie. i didnt like the clie (palm os) due to the fact that you cant have calendar entries that span two or more days (ie the event starts at 2pm on sunday and finishes and say 5am on monday). so i bought and ipaq. wow this thing is great but i still wouldv'e liked an all in one solution. i had a r380 before the t68i and that was awesome! the other day i tried the P800 in a store and to my dismay and massive shock....you could mot make a calendar entry that spans two or more days!!! how could such a basic and extreemly useful feature be missing from this pda??? does anyone know if anything will be done about this? its the only reason why i won't get one. it means a lot to me since 70% of my calendar appointments span two days (i am nocturnal). will uqi 2.1 fix this? are there any other alternatives?

The Symbian/EPOC PDA apps have always been somewhat basic. But then the first apps I bourght for my Palm was replacements for the calendar and the address book. So it's not really alone. However P800 IS a PDA just as much as a Palm OS based one is.

yep, you can have it spanning more than 1 day, but can't specify the begining and end times (unless i haven't fiddled around enough... i have a 3-day music festival i'm involved with over the summer and my phone thinks it atarts at midnight on thursday til midnight sunday silly phone)

Well, this doesn't bother me too much. My company makes me use Notes for my calendar... it won't let me have a start time to end time that spans midnight.

I guess the P800's as powerful as Notes!

You can have an event span more than a day if you list it as "All day event" ... now if what you want is "Appointments" from 10pm til 2am the next day.. you're out of luck.

I'm in production so my hours are the same as well... what I do is I just list them as reminders, not appointments. works fine for me. I prefer the little red flag over the blue box anyway

Well actually it is possible to make an appoitment from 10:00 pm to 02:00 am next day...just do it!! Yep, just choose 22:00 as starting time, and 02:00 as end time, and the calendar will figure out that the end time must be the next day.

But you can't do this if the start time is 10:00 pm and the end time is 11:00 pm the next day...cause the P800 will think that it's just a one hour appointment.

But I guess most people working nights, don't work more than 24 hours, so it wont be a problem then.

Unless ofcourse you enter the new appointment in Oulook and then sync, because then P800 CAN handle those many days events.
