Alright, after scanning the boards for a while, I've been hearing a lot about such 't86i killers'. Well sure, there are plenty of nice phones out on the market, and there always will be, regardless of who they are producted by (ie SE, Seimens, Sanyo, etc.). But let's not forget 2 VERY important things here:
1.) SE IS the, and the only, inovator of new technologies and gadgets for Mobile phones. All of these 't68i killers' a a little year and a half late! In the Mobile industry, 1 month too late isn't even going to cut it.
2.) THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING! Accessory compatability. SE understands that when you upgrade your handset, you probably aren't going to buy a lot of new accessories with it, or you may not upgrade your handset to begin with because you don't want to give up cool accessories from your old phone. But SE phones can reuse accessories, not just chargers and other generic accessories, but cool accessories like the mp3 player, fm radio, communicam, and bluetooth toys. All the other mobile phone makers just don't get it, and they never will. I had my t28 since 1999, and just got a new t68i in february. ALL of my t28 accessories work with the t68i like a charm. And to that I am thankful and will ALWAYS buy SE, regardless of the price of handsets!
Hail SE and their incredible talents! All the other phone makers can, well, you know where they can go!

i agree 2, u have to look at what was available back then.... and not now. when the t68 came out i think that the best fone nokia had was the 8310 boasting a built in radio. And the next colour phone was the samsung t100.... both were no way as good as the t68
Obviously now, most fones are "t68 killers" and so they should be.... be they nokia, samsung, sanyo etc...
the one thing im glad about is the rapid development in the mobile fone industry over the last 2 years. We have fones with camera's, that play mp3s and movies, lots of colours, touch screens, gprs....and i really believe that SE have helped push things along...

Dunno about most phones nowadays being t68 killers - I don't know of a phone so feature packed. Sure, a phone may have one feature that the t68i doesn't (Java, better colour screen) but I don't think there is a more feature packed phone with killer looks.
But then again I am most probably biased....

I totally agree. What i missed in the t68i was polys and downloadable games. Therefore i bought a t310. I still use my t68i for more serious stuff. How many colors on screen doesnt matter to me untill the t610 arrives. :-)

Well.. being loyal to a brand is one thing but to claim that that brand, (Sony) Ericsson is the only inventor of new tecnologies and gadgets is plain stupid! Do some studying and youīll find out. Yes, Ericsson was perhaps the greatest pioneer in the mobile phone market once but thatīs history now. Thatīs like claiming that the Ford T-model is the greatest car out there and that no new car is a T-Ford killer because they are newer. Baloney!
The S55 for instance is better than the t68i, as it bloody well ought to since it is newer! And the t610 is of course better than the S55. If it wasnt, what would be the point of introducing it?? It is very hard to compare things that are not released at the same time, since the latest release from respective manufacturer is better than the others, or ought to be. Thatīs called evolution..
So by all means, be loyal to your favorite brand, but donīt be stupid!
(In case you wonder i have had 3 Ericssons, 4 Nokias and 2 Siemens so i donīt consider myself biased)
Respect!

(Sony) Ericsson cannot be beaten! My very first phone was an Ericsson A2618s back in November 2001. Had to admit, it was rather poor. In August 2002, I went for a Motorola V66. It was so crap I returned it! Then I went for the V66i, still no luck. The screen messed up big time. I returned it and fell in love with the T300 straight away! It was cheaper than the stupid Motorola, and it's colour! Recently I bought a Nokia 6610, but it was dead 4 days later! This shows that Ericsson's reliabily rate is v high!

@ardman_ryan
Yes.. and i once had a Renault R12. It never ever failed to start in the 2 years i had it so that proves Renault rules!
*irony*
Seriously.. that only proves that you have had bad luck with your Motorolas (which i donīt like very much anyway

and your one Nokia out of how many produced?
I could easily find 10 dissatisfied t300 owners and that would turn your little excersise in statistics upside down
Look, iīm glad you like your t300 but please keep things in perspective here!
Cheers!
