When the T68m came out in the market it was indeed the most advance phone yet compared to Nokia Phones. The latest Nokia phone at that time was 8310. Similarly was the case with the release of the T68i.

But I do not see the same case with the T610. There are more advance phones than T610. Example P800. More worst there is the Nokia 3650/7650 and the new 7250.

I know it sounds carzy saying Nokia 7250 more advance than the T610 but face it T610 lacks a needy 5mb space and Speaker phone.

Now the tables are such that instead of SonyEricsson providing with the LATEST TECHNOLOGY they are providing QUALITY products like Nokia used to do before. In earlier times Nokia would not remove any latest techonological phones until and unless some new company have removed some successful products. This was for the sake of competition only.

Even the P800 which was scheduled to be launched in september was delayed quite a lot. By the time it came out, there was 3650 with video recording capabilities. Even at the cnet competition 3650 beat the P800.

Nokia has already announced its 6220 model which has video viewing/receving/sending capabilities, it does not has a video recording feature. This EDGE phone is due out in the 3rd Quater. It also will have an equal or more space than the 7250. So how long does it actually take Nokia to outrun the T610 again?

Overall i personaly feel that if you want a quality product then wait and go in for a T610. If you want a technologically advance phone (i mean more advance than a t610) then go in for Nokia 7250 or The Smart Phone of Nokia 3650.

3MB memory difference between 7250 and T610 is yor only measure for advanced technology? By the way, video recording on P800 is only matter of time i believe.

gseth-
have u tried the 7250?

it feels just like a pice of plastic and the camera suck big times. and it only has 4096 colours. and u can just see small pics of what u have taken on the phone.
i havnīt tried t610 but i really hope that it will be better than 7250. and it seems like it ..

The bottom line is, the 7250 is not, and SHOULD not be compared to the T610.

It's all due to the technology factor. Has the 7250 got BT? NO! Has the T610? YES!

Another one: Has the 7250 got 65,536 colours? NO! Has the T610? YES!

Just by analysing these two points concludes my explanation.

No comparison between Nokia - SE...

SE is way better in terms of technology! If we do compare them phone by phone, you will see that SE's are more advanced. Look at the T610-N7250... the only thing that T610 lacks is memory. On all other aspects it's a superior phone (screen, Bluetooth, aluminum, interface, cameras picture quality, accessories, size...) and it is expected to sell for 500 euros... that's about 7250 price.

Let's see the P800 against the Nokia smart phones.... no comparison!!! The Nokia ones do not even have a proper Bluetooth implementation... They do not support audio profile; I think one of the most important aspects!!! Their batteries run out in a matter of hours. P800's only problem has to do with camera's picture quality (note, that this is valid only for P800 and not for the rest SE's) Even the OS used in P800 is superior compared to Nokia's Series 60... Not to mention the touch screen that Nokia's simply don't have.

Something cheaper... the T310... its only weakness is the screen with the 256 colors. In terms of software and camera add-on is by far better, as well as in terms of battery duration and size.

What I want to point out is the fact, that SE's phones have very strong characteristics that overshadow some weaknesses that may exist. On the other side Nokia's phones seems mediocre in terms of technology and design (yes... they do seem to have lost it) adoption and their weaknesses are more obvious

nokia first came out with the much sought after video recorder on the 3650 (also has bluetooth)and the p800 has none and they say nokia is not advance technology. p800 is buggy due to feedback from owners of the phone compared to the 3650 which is rock solid in terms of software. t610 will be just as buggy as the p800 when it comes out even if it's release has been delayed.
