Can someone please advise whether Blåtand literally means "Bluetooth"? Not speaking any Scandinavian languages (German and English primarily here), I can't hazard a guess.

Thanks.

Thanks. I was fairly certain, and then one article translated it as "dark skinned tall man" saying "Bluetooth" was incorrect.

One simply cannot trust what one reads.

Cheers and thanks again.

(from the Ericsson website)

"Harald Blåtand (Blåtand is swedish for Bluetooth) was a viking and king of Denmark 940-981 AC. He was son of Gorm the old who was king of Denmark and of Thyra Danebod daughter of king Ethelred of England. Harald united and controlled Denmark and Norway.
Harald had a reputation of eating a lot of Blueberries wich colors the teeth blue hence the name."

Thanks all. I had it correctly, but I am writing an article for the BMW Roundel publication on Bluetooth and, whilst doing fact checking, found the odd translation I cited above.

Best.
