I know this has been been brought up many times before, but th PC suite software is s**t. I have only had the phone for about a week, and looked forward to installing anything and everyting onto the phone. However when I connect my phone to the USB stand, it connects on the Link propeties but whne I try to start a PC Suite Program all I get is:-
' No phone has been indentified by Sony Ericsson Phone Connection Monitor. Please connect and define your phone first '
I dont know, it may be me being thick, but should it not work after this?
I have contacted Sony Ericsson by way of Phone and e-mail after E-mail, But no joy yet. Technical Advisors my a**.
Any help would be great.
Cheers, Evisu_kid

You have to add a new phone to the monitor.
In the taskbar icons there's one like (, a bidireccional arrow ) right click it and add anew phone.

Does anyone know where I can get the UK 1.3.1 version of PCSuite from?
I can only find the German version on the sony ericsson site.

I had problems with mine but is was down to the firewall not allowing access.
If you have a firewall make sure you have given the software rights.

Just installed v1.3.1, and guess what.......
Still no good.
Its connecting to the phone, says its connected, but when i go to 'change phone' there are no phones on the list even when I refresh it.
This is really started to get tiresome now, If I wanted just a phone I wouldn't have spent £500 getting one sim free.

Have you got any virus protector programs running? I had the same problem, but i just started uninstalling stuff and it worked, then all of a sudden it stopped, so i gave up and started putting stuff back on and when i put norton on again it worked, like magic.

make sure you have no antivirus programs, or firewalls or anything like that.
"Reboot" your phone. Reboot the computer.
Make sure there's nothing else (including the phone monitor option in control panel) that's trying to connect to the same serial port.
Make sure you enable JUST the correct port in the phone monitor icon on the tray bar.
Go to the phone, make sure it's in 115200 speed and RTS/CTS (hardware) mode + make sure it's in PC connect mode.
Let the computer fully load and wait until the tray icon appears.
Then gently put the unit on the USB connector and everything should work fine!

Just tried all that, but still no joy.
I have the phone set up at
Baud rate: 115200
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Character Length: 8
Flow Control: CTS/RTS
As ive said the phone connects but it says there isnt a phone connected when i try yo install programs, or anything at the matter.
I've got it plugged into a USB Hub, would that make a difference?
Also is there anything I have to do with the phone to make it connect e.g press a button?
I may be coming across a bit thick, but its starting to frustrate me so much I cant think straight at the minute.
