> Memory Stick Does not show up!

I've just done a quick search, and can't find any previous posts on this.
I did a backup this morning PCSuite 1.3.1 (Backup and Restore 1.4.3.0), it failed on two areas - Firstly I got an error saying that Agendas could not be backed up, so I chose to skip this - secondly I got cannot backup D:, again I thought weird, but chose to skip.
The backup reported as failed, so I rebooted the phone and was about to have another go, when I noticed that the memory status displayed on Handy Day 2.5 read 0 for Memory Stick! I know for a fact that the stick has 5.8MB free so this can't be right.
I presumed it was an error on Handy Days side, so I went on to attempt another backup. This time however I couldn't select Memory stick as a backup option. After checking the phone and files, I can indeed concour that the phone refuses to register that the memory stick is plugged in.
I have tried rebooting - both with and without the stick inserted.
I have tried leaving the stick in for 10 minutes
I have tried leaving the stick out for 10 minutes.
No sign of the stick being inserted.
Help!

Well, after searching through the phones options, the only access to the memory card I could find was............drum roll................format!!!!
Wehey! say good bye to all my save games and apps!
