Is it possible to remove the duo whilst the p800 is switched on?
would it cause problems or does it have to be switched off?

You can take out when phone is on, just make sure you are not reading or writting anything to the disk ie. donot take out while phone is playing an mp3 file or copying a file onto the DUO
