Since i bought my T300 i have noticed something strange on the sms composition. When the language is switched to Greek it only allows me 70 characters and then if the long message option is switched on it starts a second message. On the other hand when the language is switched to english it allows normally 160 chars before it switches to sms 2.
Thge question is : Has anyone else encountered such a bug or is my phone buggy? Will it be fixed if i upgrade the firmware?

So..... That doesn't answer my question mate....In fact, i think that ur answer is pathetic, 'cause i can't find a reason why i should not compose sms's in greek instead of "greeklish". The question was if there is a bug will it be fixed with an upgrade, not which language will i choose for sms....

I think maybe cause the greek letter take 2 or characters in phone language than english ones do... just a random guess but it could be...

When Unicode is enabled you only get 70 characters. Unicode allows you to type in any language, provided that you have the input method, and not just the English alphabets.
This is normal and happens on all phones.

@Elusive_Cure: There IS a remedy, quite simple... U have to play a little with the input methods... In my phone I have "English", "Greek" and T9 enabled... It would be good NOT to change input method in the same sms, this means if U begin writing in Gr, don't change to English and then back to Gr in the same sms...
One other thing U can do and it almost always works, is to put input method "abc..." and find the greek chars by multitaping (they are after the eng ones... just a little more keypresses)... This will allow U to write both eng and gr in the same sms without changing the input method...
My mobile didn't have this prob since I got it, but I remember my brother having this problem with T28s and he found the solution quite easily... I'll check & I'll tell U!

Unicode is the _correct_ way. The T200 or other older phones might be able to input Greek without Unicode, but that also means only people with identical fonts installed will be able to read your messages. The phone manufacturer must also specifically make a Greek version of the phone with Greek fonts for the Greek market.
This is all fine if the Greeks will never send Greek messages to anyone outside of Greece, and not using a phone made for other markets.
I have a T300 with Thai language. I can only input English and Thai on the phone. But I can receive messages in any language, thanks to Unicode.

No,your phone is not buggy.I'm from Greece and have a T68i.When I first bought the phone it has software version R2A014(the second software!)and when I wrote in Greek I could write only 70 characters!I upgraded it on R7A013 and the problem gone!!So,upgrade your phone and you will write up to 160 greek characters with or without T9.I mean there's no problem if you have T9 on or off!You can write in both situations up to 160 greek characters in one message!:-D
