Hi All,

I did a quick search of the forums but could not find a resolution to this problem.

I am on O2 Pay Monthly, Have A P800, Have GPRS On My Tarrif and am trying to access my e-mail (not with o2) via the e-mail client on the p800 using gprs.

I have been sent the GPRS settings by o2, and also had them sent by SE, but all i seem to be able to do is browse WAP internet pages and not send/receive e-mail or browse normal internet pages.

I Read on the internet that o2 have 2 different GPRS APN addresses, one for wap and one for email/web. The ones for web/email access do not appear to work, but i have pasted them below anyway:

Homepage: http://pda.o2.co.uk/
GPRS APN address : mobile.o2.co.uk
Username : web
Password: password
DNS Servers: 193.113.200.200 and 193.113.200.201

Has anybody had any success in checking their non-o2 pop/imap e-mail using gprs with o2 on a p800, if so let me know and i will praise you forever

Something in the back of my mind is telling me that as well as getting the data APN you also have to have your contract setup to allow you to use it. Might be worth giving O2 a call and asking them.

Of course I could be talking out of my arse.......

Regards,

Phil.

Try this, it worked for me

Setting a Data account

From the "O2 - UK" front screen:

Scroll to Connect in the menu

Scroll to Data Comm.

Scroll to Data accounts

Scroll to Add account

Select GPRS data
Name the account Mobile web
Enter the APN as mobile.o2.co.uk
Enter the User ID as web
Enter the password as web
Scroll to Save

The T68i will report that the data account has been saved, and take you back into the Data accounts menu

Scroll to the connection you just created - Mobile web

Scroll to Edit

Scroll to DNS address

Enter the DNS address as 193.113.200.200

The above just worked for me.

I found there where 2 dial connections when delivered from BT - GPRS WAP and just GPRS both has the same settings.
I altered GPRS to
Address mobile.o2.co.uk
User ID as web
password as web

Then changed my IMAP (or POP3), account to use the the GPRS dial connection instead of GPRS WAP which was default dialer.

Good Luck
