> Email Settings for Vodaphone
Bookmark topic
Hi Guys!
I have just bought a P800 and it came with two autosetup messages.
One being Vodaphone GPRS and the other being MMS GPRS Postpay.
My first qestion is why are there two accounts. Which is the one I use for email?
I am trying to access my email via the phone but it keeps timing out.
I am not sure which of the above accounts I am supposed to use.
I am trying to access a .mac email account and the settings I have dont work.
mail.mac.com in my inbox server address.
One member in this forum sujests mail.vizzavi.co.uk in my outbox but still no luck.
I sometimes get a "could not find a DNS server error message
Thanks for any help!

Search and you will find. It's a lot faster than posting a new topic and a lot less cumbersome for other users.

Change the settings to those in my post and you should be ok.

I think there's another point - which no-one seems to be telling anyone else despite many posts on this exact same theme.
Vodafone have just told me that I have to use a Vodafone.net email address, which you can set up free at
www.vodafone.net, and then either use it, or access other email accounts through it.
But you do need the internet, web, web set up per other posts.

U dont NEED 2 use vodafone's mail but it is an option.
lve neva used vf's own mail + don't intend 2! Like it says in my other posts u can't use WAP connections (eg wap.vodafone.co.uk set as the address 4 the connection) it has 2b an internet connection. POP mail cannot b accessed unless thru this internet connection or by using VF's own mail.
Hope this helps!

Dear Lloydy!
I am trying like crazy to get my .mac email via internet access using my P800.
Tried everything you suggest but it just times out every time!
I can access via internet from any other remote computer!
I don?t understand this line from your posting.
I've looked about and seen things about changing the APN - i tried that and the GPRS just doesn't connect.
I cant find anything in my phone that gives you the option of APN.
Thanks

the APN is set on the P800 where is says 'address'
THIS IS THE APN! - there isnt actually a section which says APN - thats just what its generally called. Address / APN - same thing!
It will usully say wap.vodafone.co.uk or something here
it needs to be changed to 'internet' !!
Hope this helps!
