Has anyone else had any success connecting to the UK blueyonder (Telewest) Internet service using CSD dialup from a P800? I'm beginning to think there's a problem in Symbian PPP here, since it connects to my backup ISP with no problems. (Sadly they have a non-geographic number, so are too expensive for regular use.)
With blueyonder, the P800 dials, appears to have connected, then just hangs on accessing a site, as if there's a DNS or gateway problem. I've tried most of the available connection options, including several different manual DNS entries and a connect script. Are there any tools available which would tell me what it thinks it's using as gateway, IP address, netmask, etc? I've got very little to work on at the moment. I do know that the Vodafone modem banks work OK with blueyonder, as my old Nokia 7110 plus PDA connected fine.
Searching Usenet with Google suggests that a suspiciously similar problem appeared on Psion 5mx handhelds when Telewest changed their modem hardware from 3Com to CVX. If no-one else seems to have been able to connect, how would I go about raising a bug report with SE or Symbian?
