Not to sure what it fixes, and is only US English at the moment, but it does support win98

I have just download PCSuite 1.4.2 from Sony Ericsson site. After that I tried to install it over version 1.1.1. It refuse to install!!! The error is that I have install/uninstall incomplete on my PC, and asked me to reboot. After reboot, the same problem occured. I can't install 1.4.2

The same problem occured with 1.3.1. I can't install it. Clean install after removal of 1.1.1 also won't work. So I have to reinstall 1.1.1 again!!!

I have searched for PendingFileRenameOperations in my Registry but there is no instance there.

Can you please help me install 1.4.2, and if anyone know how to resolve this problem, please post it here. Thank in advance!!!

This is great news if it really supports Win98!
I'm downloading it now.

I had the same error. Tried logging out and then logging back in - no difference.

I rebooted, then tried to install, same error.

Rebooted again, and it SUCCEEDED!

The only change I can tell is that it's less prone to errors if you stop the sync process in the middle (it killed my Organizer file with 1.3.1).

I got a phone call in the middle of the sync. It can't recover after this problem (I had to log out of windows and log back in before it worked again).

Notice no NT4.0 support....

Interesting. I would have thought the same problem which haulted the 98 software would have also fixed the NT side of things.

I would now expect there to be no future NT support... but thats entirely based on opinion and not on fact... so we'll see!

And who says USB is the only connection for a p8???

Plus the cradle is not really USB, but a USB->Serial connection.

Believe me, it would be possible to get it working with SP6a, but that's not the point.

Why can't people with IR + NT Sync?

I was using NT 4.0 with on-board IrDA.
Also, there exists 3rd-party support for USB under NT.
