UK SE Support: 08705237237

Here are some uk numbers to call to get the firmware update to R2D:
Barnet: 0208 216 3896
Langley: 01753 543 712
Keighly: 01535 616 106

or you can send your phone off for 7 - 10 working days to get updated. (call SE to get details of what to send)

Clelestica telford Ltd,
PO BOX 80
Oaken Gates
Telford
Shropshire
TS2 9WT

You can do a full back up of your phone before you update the firmware and restore it with no problems to the new firmware! They recommend you download the new version of pc suite 1.3.1 Also people on orange can get their phone upgraded no problems....

When you take your phone to get updated you need to take proof of purchase with you which includes the date you bought the phone!

I am going to try and take my phone in somewhere and see what happens. I will post here with info of what happens.

Hope this is useful to someone....

Wouldn't it be nice if we could come up with a list of Service Points for the UK.

I know we can search for them from that link on the SE site (which I can't find any more either) but it only lets you search, as opposed to giving a full list.

I'm going to have a play and see what I can come up with.

That's a great idea. These are just the ones nearest my home. Its a shame there is not a few more SE services points in england, i think theres only about 35 (give or take a few). I am currently debating whether its worth driving nearly 70 miles to get the firmware updated! If it makes a big difference I will. We'll see how I feel tomorrow

Does anyone know how often they release firmware update as I do not want to be doing this trip every few months

It really depends how screwed the initial firmware is...can be a week...can be six months! This message was posted from a T300

The best way of getting a list of the SP's would surely be to get a list *from* a SP - surely they have a contact list of all the other SPs in the UK?

And if thats the case - surely someone on here can help out

Finding a service point is literally like finding a needle in a haystack...I don't have a clue where the closest one to Kent is - perhaps London? This message was posted from a T300

Found it:

http://www.sonyericsson.com/uk/spg.jsp?page=start&Redir=template%3DDL1_0a%26B%3Die

But if you tick the Service Point thing it says it can't find the address. I assume it's a problem with their tie to the "Viccinity corporation" or that the SP database ain't being updated.

Shame.

Might have to call them after all.
