> Cradle not finding P800
Bookmark topic
I had this all working fine yesterday, now my PC wont recognise my P800 when i put it in the cradle. The only change i can think that I have made is installing Opera, I have since taken it off and done a reboot of both the phone and PC.
I have also done a reinstall of PC Suite, to no avail.
When I look at the properties of the Phone Connection Link, I have noticed that there is no USB connection for the cradle there, and no phone recognised.
I have also check the USB ports using my Bluetooth dongle and they are working fine.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as there is some stuff I want to transfer to my phone before I leave work tonight.

This cradle(DCU 11 USB) did never work properly with my Windows XP Home Edition because I always got the warning from XP that the drivers either for the IR or Serial modem were not digitally signed,I did have to recovery my pc over 10 times, the PC Suite Dial-up Networking wizard did never work, once it did but again the drivers did not work.So finally I just did following:Enabled the infrared on modem mode(PC mode works too)at the P800, and just neared it very close to my laptop, infrared is always active and can recognise any nearby device with IR properties, and then it did install it as Standard modem over IR link automatically,it is working fine as a dial up modem and also I can send files too and receive.Thats my solution to this problem.

I am using XP Professional, Service Pack 2 on my PC and I have never had any problems with the PC not recognising the phone, except a couple of times when I found it wasnt seated in the cradle properly. You kind of have to put it in at an angle and then gently lean it back onto the pins rather than push straight down into the cradle.

Interesting as XP SP2 doesn't exist as gold code.
There are plenty of other threads on here with troubleshooting, but one thing is sure: The quantity of people who have the cradle working is so vast and covers so many OS's, there is definately no inherant fault with the cradle.
Check your drivers are installed in Device manager, check the p8 is set to PC Connect in the cable options, check for power in the cradle etc
You'll get there.

Ok, after much testing and whatnot, I am strating to believe that the problem is with the USB connection from the cradle.
After uninstalling all the software for the P800 (and anything else Ericsson) the cradle is not recognised as a new device by any machine that I try it on, and like I said in my first post, there was no USB connection in the Phone Connections properties.
Anyone have any further thoughtson this gefore I take it in for a replacement?

Just to add, I had my T68i sitting in the cradle charging, it was charging fine, but does anyone think that this might be the reason for the cradle not working anymore???

mine is working fine, i use to charge my t68i and t300 using the cradle (DCU 11 USB), still working. i believe it's not the cradle but the drivers installed.

Just tried updating the drivers, but in the device manager, there is nothing being recognised on the USB ports, I tested them all with other USB devices and they are working fine.
If I was to plug the cradle into a machine that it hadnt been plugged into before I sould get a "install new hardware" prompt, yes? Well I just tried that and I am getting nothing.

Have you tried in another PC?
