I've looked and searched around here but no luck... please excuse me if this has been answered before and I just failed to find the right posting, but I'd like to stop my phone making any noise on power-up and power-down. Even in silent mode, it sometimes plays the little jingle or makes those "wooden block" ticking noises. This is with the R1D phone software.

Power-up and power-down means when you turn the phone on or off. There are many times in life when it's important to turn off a phone quickly without it making noise. With the P800 it would also be useful to silently turn it on in "flight mode" to get at the organiser features.

This is dead basic stuff, along with *permanently* enabled SMS delivery receipts (not available even with the latest firmware), alarms that work when the phone is off and organiser category/folder synchronisation with Outlook. So far, I'd give this phone a score of about 6.5/10 -- it's not actually _bad_, but I wouldn't rave about it either.
