uhm, MP3 is a pretty much a music-compression format.
try zipping an mp3 file and you'll see that it won't get smaller.

Use Mp3Pro.
Compresses files to half size by converting them to 64Bit Mp3, but keeping the quality of 128Bit Mp3.
Still not the best, but saves on space.
