I know some of this has been covered before but I need some convincing before I replace my T68i (great size but too slow and very poor reception). Could you comment on the following please:-

1. Size - the P800 is bigger but it doesn't seem to be 'huge'. Can you learn to live with it?
2. The Flip - looks hideous and clearly should be removed. Can you use the phone ok without it and is the touchscreen fine for medium sized fingers?
3. BT - several posts about the poor BT s/w. Will it link ok, should I need to, with my iPAQ?
4. Camera - good enough quality to use it or simply a waste of space?
5. Can u have multiple email accounts? i.e. dial into a RAS for work, GPRS for my Yahoo emails etc
6. Opera browser on GPRS - perfectly useable and speed acceptable (subject to Orange UK!)
7. Sync with Outlook - will it sync my emails, calendar & contacts fine with Outlook 2000?

All input greatfully received. I was tempted to wait for the T610 but judging by this site its months away and I have to get rid of my T68. The phone is sooooo slow and the signal reception is very poor. I've had it a year (and had the s/w updated by a friend who works at SE numerous times - he even wrote part of the s/w for it! - but the reception quality on Orange is so marginal in many areas where my wife's Panasonic GD87 works very happily).

Thanks.

1) Yes its bigger than the t68, and at first I found it too big - but once you get used to it its fine - and its worth it for the extra features over the t68.

2) I never use the flip, get around fine without it, you can get most of the functionality with the jog dial.

3) Will you still need the Ipaq even? sold mine now as the p800 does everything I need!

4) Good fun, and should be improved with the firmware update.

6) GPRS is fine - not lightening fast, but good enough for stuff like MSN messenger and ICQ and checking news on the go

I dont think you'd regret getting a P800!! Might take a week or so to get used to it however - I could never go back to the t68 now!

Ain't that the truth.

I picked mine up the other day to play with, and I felt almost claustrophobic looking at the screen.

Makes you think what an incredible advance this phone really is.

@mannequin- if u dont buy the P800 now, when will u buy it? when some new technology or new phone has come out of the market causing a plunge in the P800's price? why not buy that new phone instead.. get the idea? i know it's not cheap, but it's damn worth it if you'd ask me.

@teamedition
1. Size - easy to get used to.. and it's light.
2. The Flip - i use the P800 w/o the flip. i've big fingers and they work fine. just make sure u have a screen protector on.
3. BT - never tried it w/ a PC..
4. Camera - good lighting = good quality.
5. Can u have multiple email accounts? - i have 3 email accounts in the P800.
6. Opera browser on GPRS - network dependent. mine works great. can access anything on the web.
7. Sync with Outlook - syncs fine with outlook xp. the new version of PC suite (1.4.x) has support for Win98.

Buy it now!! I dont see prices fallling much in the near future, and the P800 is ideal for using MSN messenger or ICQ in lectures! Both of those use almost no bandwidth so GPRS costs are minimal!

You can get a P800 in the UK on talk400 for £99 so its not that expensive either!

Ok, I used to have a Treo280, which was a good device, however the P800 just simply blows it (and all others) away.

1. It's actually a managable size, as it was about the same size as the treo (when flipped) I didn't notice much different.

2. Yeah when I first saw the pics, I thought the first thing I'd do was to remove the flip, however, it doesn't look as bad as it does in the pics, it provides extra protection when in your pocket, etc, and it makes using the phone much easier in phone mode. I left mine on.

3. I've never had any problem with my BT, mind you I only use the headset the range is pretty good, I can walk around the apartment into other rooms without problems.

4. Well the camera is only 640x480, so don't expect killer images, however it has come in handy when I needed something on the fly and the pics are adequit enough...PLUS I keep hearing rumours that the new update for the O/S provides support for making streaming movies with the camera.

5. I don't know, my stupid provider hasn't enabled GPRS yet here, but I"m not bitter about it...

6. Read no. 5

7. Yup, dead easy and simple to use, plus the cradle looks much cooler than anything else out there!

Hope this helps...
