> Badly implemented SMS delivery reports
Bookmark topic
Just got R2D back, generally happy, but disappointed with SMS delivery reports. Instead of the great system in T68i where you get a changed icon in the sent messages folder you receive a text saying message delivered, which then has to be deleted... not as convenient IMHO (and not being possible to default to on?!?)
Surely SE knew that people like delivery reports, so why not put them in original release. I'm not technical, but surely it isn't that difficult a thing to code. Or is this UIQ's area....
I know this has been discussed to death, but does the P800 whitepaper suggest that T9 will ever be implemented, and what reasons are there for not implementing it (perhaps royalties have to be paid to owner of T9 technology, surely it can't be a storage space issue...)

why not at least put it just below the 'TO:' for us to have easy access? I didn't even noticed it ever existed until I accidentally clicked on the icon right below the text box

I had also feared this.. and im very disapointed if it's true.
I totally agree - when i bought an 8210 when they were first released, the delivery report thing didn't bother me too much as it was the only implementation i had ever seen.
When I got my t68, I couldn't believe how much more user friendly it was - and how much less user intervention was required.
I think thats a real backwards step.. Let's hope it's not going to stay like that for the foreseeable future.
But hey - let's be grateful for what we have

it is clear it was a quick 'n dirty addition to the P800, it's indeed not integrated at all, you can't set it to default 'yes', it is on a seperate screen (not in the setup menu for SMS), the delivery report is a new true SMS, and no icons like the T68 next to a sent SMS to know after a while which message got delivered and which one wasn't (if you have like 30 SMS & 25 delivery reports to the same few numbers, you'll be lost!)
But hey, at least it works!
