I've tried many times to send an item via ir to a nokia phone (pictures and java games) but it always fails to send them.
anyone knows anything about this ?

What nokia phone? If it's a 6100, 6610, 7210 or 7250 then it's because series 40 phones don't support sending/receiving pics via IR.

yeah! that's the bad side of nokia phones.
they have IRs for display purposes only, they are not for use.
you can't even send/receive items.

They do have IR. But, like with most Nokia "connectivity", it's crippled.

all the nokia phones with infra red ports that dont use the Series60 platform cannot receive data via infra red ports without software only PDA's can use the functions of GPRS of the nokia phones such as my old REVO with the software called phone man pro, i could upload phonebook SMS logos ringtones and so on to & from my old nokia and even my 7210, when i wanted to upload java games ot my 7210 i had to connect it to my PC via infra red or cable and use the nokia java uploaded programe which is a massive 52mb in size to download from there site

i hope this clears some shit up
