For polyphonic tones, the P800 uses the MIDI format. Just use any MIDI sequencer program. One of the more popular PC programs for years is Cakewalk. You can enter the music through your PC using the mouse (position notes on a staff) or enter directly using a MIDI keyboard (i.e. syntheziser, etc.). Save your composition as a MID file and then upload to your P800.
There are also tons of MID files you can download on the Internet. No need to pay Globe or Smart for ringtones.
Personally I prefer WAV files as ringtones and alerts because the volume of MIDI is too soft, and it defeats the purpose of an alert if you can't hear it.
If you prefer music as your ringtone, I'd suggest editing an MP3 file with an audio editor then write a portion as a WAV file - so you have the real thing as a ringtone, not a karaoke like facsimile.

That's right, but you wont need a full song as a ringtone, you can just convert a little bit of it to wav. Also you dont need to use the best options for your mobile, it has quite limited speaker you know.. ;)

Yup as snowflake sez for an alert toneu only need a few secs of audio not d whole song. just extract the first bar of the chorus and save as wav. u can also change bitrate and quality so it uses less space. my wavs are just 10k or so. maraming audio editors sa greenhills... i use cooledit. too bad p800 cant use mp3 for tones yet, maybe in next fw upgrade...
