I went into the CPW in Oxford Street middle of last week - was advised that an up date was available and could be done on site but it was going to take about 48hrs or so due to backlog!! Told that the new firmware stopped the P800 from crashing and made it quicker in its operation.
Felt the guy behind the counter was just blagging it though......

Don't know if it's any help but I work for CPW. I spoke to the engineer at our Greenford service centre on Friday and he told me they should be able to do it middle of next week.
Looking forward so much to delivery reports and night-mode on the camera!

ALL UK CPW Service Centres can now upgrade the P800 to R2D.
All engineers have been informed on how to do this and any centres making excuses that they can't I would like to know, as I will contact them to ask why and rectify this.
However, Sony Ericsson have not made it clear whether Orange P800's can. The Orange pre-installed firmware worries me as I had one killed by myself a few weeks ago using EMMA II!! Will try to get confirmation from Orange ASAP.

I also work for CPW, and I have had my P800 S/W updated at my local repair centre. The actual update takes about 2-3 hrs, but it depends how busy the centre is as to how quickly you get you're phone back.
