I've noticed that the text messages I receive are saved on the SIM card and it seems to be slowing the phone when I want to reply and send messages. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I just want it to use the phone memory...is this possible?

The T68 holds 40 messages in the phone itself in SMS folders (inbox, sent, unsent). If that limit is exceeded, it starts saving to SIM. So you have to manually delete messages in your inbox and sent folders to prevent the phone from saving to SIM.

If you delete the messages saved on your phone, then no messages will be saved on your sim... it's only when your phone's memory is full....

okay...that's odd, though 'coz I only have 4 messages in the inbox...and it already saves on the SIM. so is this just a bug?

You have to empty your "Sent Messages" folder too.

hey, it worked! thanx!
now, is there a way of configuring this so that it doesn't save my sent messages? Or will I just need to empty that folder periodically?

Hi, I am a little thick! my T68 is my first Ericsson. When I get a text message I have the option to save it. It then uses 10% of my sim card and has a sim icon next to it. What is happening? On Nokias you just leave them all in your inbox or move to archive if you want them kept safe. What exactly is the idea of the save option and why are they being saved into the sim? I only have 3 messages in total, the phone is only 2 days old.
Perhaps I should read the manual again, maybe it's just Ericsson doing things differently.
Thanks.
