How can I make that when I read my mail messages on the P800, the messages still stay on the mail server, so that I can still retrieve them another time on my desktop pc later on??

It always leaves the messages on the server.. There's no options to turn this off I think...

As I understand it (and have tried).
If you access your mail and just read the files but don't delete them from P800 then they will still show up on desktop. But if you read files on the P800, delete them then access your mail again on the P800, the ones you deleted from the P800 are removed from the server.
I just read the files & don't delete them from the P800 until I have accessed my mail with the desktop first then delete them from P800.
It is daft to not have option on P800
