Let`s face it, before T68 Ericsson phones had a bit dull design. I like the T39, but i love the T68 design, i think it`s a masterpiece. It has a masculine look and feel.

But what will the future bring?
T68i looks like cheap plastic and what about the color; baby blue !!!

The P800 looks a bit dull to, the Nokia 7650 looks much better.

So what can we expect from in the years to come?

I'm a little confused to. But I think the P800 looks better than 7650. The 7650 is a little too thick. BUt I don't think they will have that kinnda light blue in all their phones, hope not..

The colors of the new phones seems to be "Japanese" colors; may be from Sony....
I hope new colors come with the release of the phones....

P800 is of this generation of new advanced GSM phones with colour screens, that was inaugurated by Nokia about a year ago, with their successful 9210.

The P800 has a simple design that is pleasant to the eyes, but is nothing extraordinary. Just classic. Too bad it seems to be delivered only in this baby blue and white, hopefully, a different colour shows up at a later stage. For now, it looks too plastic.
A design fault clearly is the ugly flip they put on it. While the phone lines are smooth and slightly curvy, this flip is edgy and at a complete opposite to the phone style itself. Fortunately it can be removed. Now, let's hope the life time of the touchscreen will be higher than the 2-month of Ericsson's previous "Smart"phone...
Instead of this flip, they should definitely have put a cover on the screen.... like everybody who owns a Palm does. But it would have ended up in a rather bulky thing to phone with (30 centimeters long phone when unfolded .
But let's see whether it can live without any hard cover or something like this.

While I would have no worry putting a 7650 in my pocket, I wouldn't be very safe putting a P800 there. Moreover, the 7650 covers the camera lense when folded while the P800 does not.

Btw SonyEricsson hasn't mentionned anything about the measuring of their new toy. How much does it weigh? how thick is it? What's the battery consumption like etc???

All-in-all, it's difficult to say which is best. I believe these two devices while appearing to compete with each other, actually play on their own respective fields. In fact 7650 is more for imaging whereas the P800 tries to address both imaging and communicator-like functions. However, by willing to be both, it might not be that good at any. Let's wish anyhow the P800 a good luck and may it break its legs

I agree, both T68i and P800 would look much better with another color than the baby blue.

Let`s hope thinks the same...

I used to be a great Ericsson fan, because Ericsson used to design phones with technology and an acceptable design (not funny phones with fun colours) I was planning to buy the new T68i, till the moment I did see the colours... it was a complete DISASTER. The original lunar-grey T68 is way better in looks compared to the girlish T68i.

Not to mention also the Z700 and P800 whose flips seem to be disconnected from the whole design! P800 is saved by the fact that the keyboard is removable, but its colours... a disaster again...

The Z700 is the ugliest phone of all. It doesn’t look good without an external antenna, the flip seems like it was integrated after the design of the phone was completed. The backlit of the keyboard also do not look good. There should be menu buttons instead of the dull looking keyboard. Finally it’s a very boxy, phone; its shape is very square.

To be honest I was expecting to see new designs, and not refreshed old models...

I am not happy at all with Sony Ericsson. Ericsson had better design; just look at T68, T65, T66, and T39. The Japs destroyed the company!

I do really hope that Siemens or Nokia (yes Nokia) will present us something good looking with good specs during Cebit.

Other than the 7650, nokia can't really talk. All their new phones look like crap, the 6510, the 8310, they're nothing to boast about.

I say ericsson has the upper hand

Ikirimis: I totally agree, the phones looked much better before Sony was in the picture.

The design and the look and feel of a phone is importent. (To me anyway).

Maybe I`m going back to Nokia when it`s time to get a new phone. But who knows, maybe have som really goodlooking phones in progress...
