I've got the M-cable needed to unlock an Ericsson T300, but every software I've tried has timed out. Any suggestions on settings/software would be much appreciated.

Hi guys, I know I'm a newbie here but is there any reason why there are no replies? Should I assume it’s a one off problem that can’t really be solved? Am I in the wrong thread?
If anyone could reassure me and say they don’t spot any glaring mistakes in what I’ve done already I'd be very appreciative.

OK, Ireford, sorry m8. I have absolutely NO IDEA what you're doing wrong. Does the cable work properly?? Got the right software? Tried to reinstall it?

Good luck.

Software's the ericsson logger amongst others that don't need installed - cable works fine (windows can see the phone when phone's used as a modem), but always time out. Haven't been on a while, sorry.

There lies your problem. You have the wrong cable. The wiring for the unlocking cable is different from that of a data cable(which you have) .

The cable is an M-bus cable (for unlocking) not an F-bus data cable (for ringtones).

You said you can use the cable to hook up your phone and use the phone as a modem. That means it is NOT an unlocking cable, regardless of what you think/were told it is.

If it were an unlocking cable, Pin-9 should be connected.

I didn't say I used it as a modem, I said Windows recognises & reads the phone when the modem drivers are used. From what I've heard, this is one of the best ways to make sure the cable actually *works*.
