Hi everyone. Im a bit of a newbie with regards to setting up GPRS on my P800. Im on o2 and have recieved an autoconfig file from them for o2 WAP GPRS, but I still cant browse the web on my phone. I would greatly appreciate a step-by-step approach to setting this up correctly. Please either reply to this post or email me at
ben.harden@bt.com - Thanks in advance
ps. any help with email setup would be great too! Thanks

First thing you need to do is get your contract GPRS enabled. From you post I couldn't tell if you have already done this. This can take up to 24 hours and you will need to switch your phone off and then on before you can use GPRS. Once that it done you should have no problems browsing wap with GPRS.

Phil.

Thanks Phil, I'll get in contact with o2 and get my account GPRS enabled. Do I need to set up an account on my phone after that (using control panel/connections/internetconnections) ?
Thakns again for your help.

If you are on O2 PAYG then ask for MMS and GPRS to be enabled. Note that come July they will start charging for this MMS and that you cannot use it to surf the internet or send/receive emails, only browse WAP pages and use MMS.
If you are O2 contract then you have the option of asking for the data GPRS APN which will allow you to use GPRS to send/receive email and view html pages e.t.c I believe that this is more expensive though.
The settings that you got sent to your phone should work "out of the box" once GPRS is enabled. You can check your settings against other configuration files which are available from the

website and the O2 website.
Regards,
Phil.
