Has anyone here had trouble with the above fone on above networks?
My T68i would startup (slow!) then wait saying "searching" then say "no access" for ages. Sometimes hours. I'd be getting text messages the next day after the were sent.

Anyone familiar with this and how it can be resolved?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I dont think its a problem with t-mobile, but its a fault in your phone. There is no network signal? and may only come on for a few seconds? Happened to me once (have had 3 T68i's), took it to a service centre (ring Sony Ericsson for your nearest one), and they repaired it (though they had to send it to ericsson to fix, as they couldnt do it) free if it still has warranty? Think all UK T68is have warranty until May, as it aint been out that long (maybe i could be wrong, but check production date of yours - under battery should read something like 02w..). All phones have 15 months warranty after this date.

Hope i could of been of some help, instead of others saying "search"

Well, there have been problems on t mobile netherlands for almost 2 months now. I believe it has something to do with a certain series of T68i not being able to understand a new network protocol. I'll look it up and will let you know when I get home. Btw the problem also exists on O2 netherlands.

EDIT: Sorry guys my mistake!! It's not )2, It's Orange that has those problems too! (thank you Bianca!) O2 has no problems as far as I know.

OK I've had some time to investigate. The problem is caused by (wrongful) implementation of PPCCH protocol (something to do with data communication vs spoken communication, I'm no expert sorry). Apperently this protocol causes different problems on different phones. T68i is one, but also Nokia 6310 (1st series).

Rumour has it that T Mobile NL is working on a solution 4 it's own clients, but nothing is confirmed.

I know the above-mentiond protocol was tested on Orange Libanon and created similar problems there. It seems that Orange UK and AT&T USA experience similiar problems, BUT NOT ALL USERS DO IN FACT HAVE PROBLEMS. Nobody knows why yet. Nor does T Mobile know how many ppl are affected. I've been trying to find a link to an english site about this but have only dutch ones so far....

I'll keep you posted.

Latest on the NL front: T Mobile NL is switching phones for its own customers, so they'll have one that understands the PPCCH protocol.

I own a T68i and I have a contract with T-mobile. I don't seem to have any problem but some of my friends do (T-mob&T68i combo). They had an early software version (2A006) and I have an 2E006 software version. But to be honest I don't know what the hell is causing the problem. One of my friends upgraded to the latest software version (don't remember the exact number but it surpassed mine) and he kept on having the same problems. Also their phones are r.e.a.l.l.y. s.l.o.w. and mine isn't. Riddle me this riddle me that.....

Maar aan de andere kant T-mobile is wel zeer goedkoop (vooral omdat je er niet mee kunt bellen )

I got my T68i back from carphone warehouse yesterday and it seems to be repaired so far.
On the job sheet, it said something about resetting the s/w and doing something to the antenna. The s/w is the same version, no updaye was done.
It seems to be perfect so far, but me being me thinks it will return to it's faulty state soon.
Will keep you all posted.

Thanks for all your help too!
