I have done a sync of my contacts and find that NOT ALL my contacts from the pc are sent to the phone??

Why?: Can their be some kind of limit of length of the names, because I have seen that some of those missing are long names of several words.........

If you are using Outlook of an Exchange server, you need to disconnect from the network (ie get Outlook to run offline) before they can sync properly.

The PC Suite mentions shutting down Outlook before syncing but I find that if I have access to my LAN network (and Exchange server) it still fails to transfer all my contacts

No, I am using Outlook 2002 without conection to server.
Anyway I sync with outlook closed.

I think it should have something to do with setup options of the sync program. What should be the best option config. to sync?

This issue has burned me for about a month. If you use Outlook on Exchange Server you will only get a subset of your contacts sent to your phone, sometimes. This is an Outlook/Exchange issue: I wrote both C++ and VB programs to list Contacts and they fail in the exact same way and at the same point as the SE sync does.

To sync reliably either use Offline mode (too painful for me) or move your contacts into a PST, then tell the SE software to sync from there instead. I also moved my Notes to my PST as they failed to sync randomly too. Now they are in a PST, I have 100% reliable syncing (with 1.4 software). I can even sync with Outlook still running, something that would always hang before this, it it is very quick. If your Contacts are stored in your mailbox ie on the Exchange server, you will get random (silent) failures.

I work at Microsoft but have so far been unable to find a definitive reason for this problem. I am using Outlook XP and Exchange Titanium.
