Hi all....first time on these boards so pls be easy on me...lol

right ive had my p800 since 10th of april and gotta say i do love it...but a few things concern me and was just wanting ur feedback on them pls...
right first prob i have is that my phone seems to die out quickly on me...i even on purpose didnt make a call..turned off all the bells and whistles etc...and found that within 4 hrs of standby, my battery was at 15%...so i just wanna know wot sort of battery life u get out of urs...im lucky to get one days use out of it....now ive given it a few weeks hoping that t would get conditioned but to no avail....rung up the place i got it from and they are sending out a new battery...good of them i say..
second prob i have is that my voicemail settings..there seems to beno options to set the delay of voicemail...like ont eh the t68 which i had but now sold...sometimes i can answer the phone quick enuff and it just puts it to my voicemail...ive even tried turning voicemail off thru the options but it still keeps putting my calls after 10 secs to voicemail...so could anyone clear this prob up...

final prob is my contacts are in the phone itself...how do i export them to my sim card....funny thing is that my sim card in my t68 had all my numbers...and when i put it into my p800 it wouldnt let me access them....in fact said nothing was there...so i ended up deleting all my numbers...putting my sim into the p800 and re entering the numbers...but now when i go to export from phone memory i get a double entry...so get 2 same numbers..one on phone and one on sim..but if u have a peson who has 2 or 3 numbers...the p800 doesnt allow to me save it as one contact...it puts double entries in...so this one has me really confused...

so thats about it really...other than that me is one happy guy with this p800...just a few niggly probs...

like i said im new here and hopefully will be sticking around...

just would be nice if i can get some feedback or help on my 2 above probs...i havent done the firmware upgrade on my phone yet...dunno if the voicemail prob is sorted out by it...can anyone who has had the firmware upgrade let me know..

Cheers and sorry for the long post...

hmm seems liek i cant even disable the voicemail...
thats a bit silly of SE not putting that in a phone worth almost £500...
gonna try putting my sim into my t68 and disabling voicemail then try putting it back into my p800..and see wot happens...

had a look round SE support site and it said that i need to get in touch with my service provider...lol...i think t-mobile are just gonna laugh at me when i tell them that they need to set it up for me....lol

oh well see wot happens...

Hi, P800 is a complex phone isn't it but lots of things are hard to find, even if you have owned SE phones before, i recon most of what you want IS on the phone.
If you go to "phone" then "edit" then "preferences" then "divert calls" you should be able to choose if it goes to your voicemail number or not.
The options of copying numbers between sim & phone book are under "edit" while in contacts (swop from sim to phone contacts using the little triangle top right while in phone book). because i also use Nokias at times i have contacts on all my simcards the same, if i put that sim into my p800 i then have the option of copying all to phone memory, i must admit though there are some problems when editing numbers as some people (not me) have found the p800 reluctant to let you change details held on the sim phonebook.

thanks pachy for ur reply...

ive looked thru all teh settings for the voicemail and unless im blind i cant see anything to set the delay of the voicemail...also when i go to disable voicemail..it does it...but then the funny thing is that when i go to ring my number and let it ring...voicemail still picks it up...

i did try my brothers phone..and tried to disable voicemail on my sim but when i checked the settings it was still enabled..so perhaps i got a dodgy sim card or one thats a bit knackered now...not dodgy in that it is stolen...lol...

as for copying numbers to the sim from the phone i have figured that out but on my sim card it doesnt have the details that u get on the phone memory..and wot i have found is that if i have say a persons details..and it has his/her home number and mobile and i try to copy that over to my sim...it copies one number over and then copies the other number but then it ends up with 2 entries...so sim card position 1 is taken and same with sim card 2 position..both with the same persons details...

i love the phone dont get me wrong...but it just has these little annoying quirks in it that it shouldnt have...not only that u dont even get sms reports unless u get the upgrade firmware...which is quite shocking as it should have been something that was standard..like the t68..which is a great phone in itself...but only thing i didnt like bout the t68 is the slowness of the software..especially texting was a pain in the rear...

but if anyone else has any other tricks or tips then pls dont hesitate to post...

Thats because the SIM only has one format of names and numbers - its stores a NAME and a PHONE NUMBER in a numbered ENTRY in the SIMs memory. A SIM cannot support having one name with two numbers, or even two names (e.g. a first name and a surname).
For example, if u've got the entry:
First name: JOHN
Surname: WILLIAMS
mobile: 07712345678
House: 02034567890
email: jw@ehere.co.uk
in ur p800 (which duz support these extra entries) the SIM cannot hold ALL this info. So when u try to copy this info over to ur SIM the phone cleverly makes two entries to ensure that u have all the contact's (in this case JOHN WILLIAMS) numbers (otherwise it could simply leave some out!!). So the above would be stored in the SIM as follows:

entry: 1
name: JOHN WILLIAMS
number: 0771234567890

entry: 2
name: JOHN WILLIAMS
number: 02034567890

Of course any other details (e.g. email, address, pics, anniversaries) will not be (CANNOT be) copies to the SIM.

Hope this helps!!

@Spawn, SIM cards (even the new ones) can't handle multiple numbers per entry.

The T68i doesn't keep numbers on the SIM unless you "Copy all to SIM", in which case, the phone copies your numbers sequentially... one slot per number. The annoying thing is if you have more numbers in your phone than the SIM can handle, there's no way to select which numbers or names you want the T68i to copy to the SIM... It will copy only the first (100/250/350-depending on SIM size) names only.

The P800 allows you to select which names and numbers to copy to the SIM...but I don't recommend you do this since the P800 seems to get confused which entry to use to label SMS or calls... so sometimes it doesn't display a name at all if it finds a double entry on the phone and the SIM.

Ever since my T68i, my SIM has been totally empty...I use Outlook to sync my phonebook...and I only used the SIM memory to transfer SMS from my T68i to my P800... that's all.

There is a "send all" option in the t68i....
The p800 also has this.
The p800 does not have a "copy all to sim" option though(at least I couldn't find one...)
