Just sold it,it wasnt bad after all but I never got it to work properly as a modem for my laptop, dialup wizard never worked, modem drivers wer not digitally signed not accepted from XP etc.,this is really annoying.
Now I just bought and already use a Siemens S55,great I must say,GPRS class 10 fast, and above all everything works excellent with laptop using it as a modem,it also did set it up automatically, its great.
Well the screen is like T68i level, maybe one scale higher, never mind, but it is so solid in feeling and operation,it never looses the signal.
My next phone will be the SX1,Im through with SE.

Sorry to hear that. But Siemens is a very good brand. Too bad you couldn't get your P800 to work. I just downloaded the latest Modem drivers from the net so Dial-up networking works without a hitch.
Anyway, hope you get your SX1 soon! Keep us posted on its performance!

Its very simple.lately most of the siemens phones r shiped bugfree as they stated and this is true.they test them more b4 relesing em.then, the siemens menus r richer in options IMO.The manufacture quality is better than SEs.Online updates r available from siemens.in time siemens performed better with carefree issuses..no matter what model r we talking about!

I can't argue with you anymore.
Seems your opinion is based because you like siemens.
I have to agree with you on several points.. at this time firmware upgrade is true.. like a pain in the 4$$, its really difficult to find one here. The customer service in terms of upgrading is sucks too.
Bug free is al;most impossible, find a post here, you will find that even S55 has a bug.
my biased opinion:
I believe P800 has so much features, S55 is good but you can't compare it with P800, but I believe SX1 will be a good competitor.
P800's menu is gretaer than S55, the only thing that beat P800 is that P800 doesnt has a profile system.
and Xilber: you dumped "your expensive toy" for a pocket pc, but still you endup here. Ironic.

Guys,I never ment to compare P800 with S55.I just wanted to buy a fast GPRS phone(class 10) with colour screen, this was the only one I could trust, siemens builds solid phones. After all I just sold the P800 for 500 Euro and bought S55 for 360 Euro, plain and fast, but then I inserted the small cd from S55 and installed Data Suite Siemens GPRS modem assistent and everything changed my opinion about this S55 just another phone,I realized that it was powerful and without annoying problems,Im very satisfied. If I think back to P800 and its menu slowness, the bad screen looks of colours, etc. I think I must have been a fool waiting for this all these months. And even upgrades did not fix this general mess and bulkyness of the P800,the only strong point was the browser and the Opera browser too, everything else was sometimes hopeless slow.I think this SX1 will be a great phone, has anyone heard when it will be released in Europe?

HA! s55 without bugs?!? Don't make me laugh. The most unstable phone I've ever had.
It freezed all the time. I had it for 2 days. Loved it. Whooped all other "normal" phones ass. BUT. It was not without bugs.
However. I never found a specific problem with it... Not like this or that wasn't working. Simply a generaly unstability.
My t68i was far more stable. Was on for weeks/months without hanging.
The p800 is more stable than the s55. But it is the second most unstable phone I've had. I'd say it freezes once a week on average..
