> T300: text message volume increase??

my old phone, a nokia 3395 had a nice feature i could turn up the volume for when i had text messages arrive. on this new T300 i hear a beep and thats about it. if im not starring directly at the phone im gonna miss the text message... does anyone know if its possible to turn the volume UP on text messages? thanks!

Not possible, I'm afraid, nor can you change the tone. I'm also hoping someday SE "fixes" that in a firmware release.

www.sonyericsson.com for the contact email address, I forget what it is offhand. I did email them about undating my T300 (it's a T-Mobile and, big news flash here, several revisions behind) and their reply was "Unfortunately, we do not have a local service center that I could refer you to. Also we normally do not recommend doing a software upgrade unless you are experiencing problems with the unit.". C'est la vie. It does puzzle me why you can apply a polyphonic ring tone to a call but you can't even change the volume of the one tone provided for SMS. Design by committee, I suppose.

My tone seemed to get louder when I got upgraded to the latest firmware (R7). It changed from the standard tone to a different louder one.
