> Inadvertent touch tones when talking

When I'm talking on my P800 held to my face with the flip closed, the phone beeps every minute or two and displays a number, as if I have pressed a key. It's usually a 6 or 3.
The thing is, I am not pressing the keys. It takes a bit of effort to press the keys, and you can feel a little "click" when you press them, and I am not pressing it up against my face nearly hard enough to do that. In fact, I've tried mashing it against my face and can't get the keys to press.
Before I send it back to SE, I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and possibly fixed it. My phone rev is R1D.

i belive u can turn it off if thats the problem
if there is an other problem u should probably contact a service point.

Regularly at the end of a call i go to press OK and find theres numbers on the screen which means it does something different again.

Thanks for the responses, it's good to see some other people experience the same thing. The people I'm talking to on my phone don't like the loud touchtone beeps in their ears, understandably.
I'm going to call SE and ask about it, and perhaps send it to a service center.

It definitely shouldn't be registering a keypress. I have had dozens of cell phones, and I haven't had this problem with any of them.
I called SE, and the tech suppt was no help. He transferred me to repair who told me how to send it in to get checked, so I guess I'll do that, but I'm not too optimistic.
I have always though it makes more sense to put the earpiece and microphone on the side of the phone opposite the keypad and display, but no one seems to do it.

It is definitely the keys being pressed! The same happens to too many people for it to be coincidence. I wouldn't bother wasting the time to send it back. That it still happens in f/c mode is due to the fact that the touchscreen still works the same with the flip on, but via the rubber underneath the keys, so it wouldn't take much to register a keypress.
Just another sacrifice we'll have to live with in then pursuit of mobile perfection!

The problem is, the keys (or the touchscreen beneath them) are responding to a very slight pressure which is far less than what is normally required to activate a key. You should have to press the key hard enough for it to make that clicking response you can feel through your fingertips.
The keys shouldn't respond without a reasonably firm push. That's the case with all the other phones I have used and still use, with the exception of this P800, which frequently goes off with just a feather-light brush of the keypad during a call. That's faulty behavior.
